The Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities and the Office of Civility & Community Standards strive to educate students about their rights and responsibilities as a member of the university community, to educate students about how their behavior effects the university community and our neighbors, and to offer guidance to students about their personal decision-making and how their individual choices can have significant effects upon their future aspirations.

"Code of Student Conduct"

All students--undergraduate, graduate, professional full time, part time, law, etc.--must be familiar with and abide by the provisions of the "Code of Student Conduct."

Apply to be a University Hearing Board Member

The University Hearing Board (UHB) is comprised of undergraduate and graduate student volunteers; and is designed to provide a prompt, fair decision in serious disciplinary cases.

Alcohol Medical Amnesty Program

Through the university’s Alcohol Medical Amnesty program, a student needing to be transported to the hospital for the first time as the result of alcohol intoxication and/or alcohol overdose will not face formal non-academic disciplinary action.

Civility Educators are GW students (both undergraduate and graduate) designated to facilitate educational conversations with students going through the Office of Civility & Community Standards process.
